Hotel Travel & Parking Information:
- Parking -
Parking in the area is tight. Bayside Bowls parking lot is relatively small. On street parking in the area is free and any signs that limit parking times aren't enforced after 6pm. The privately run parking lots get pricey so I say take the time to drive around the lot/block and find a spot.
- Airport -
Anyone flying in the Portland Airport is very close and less than a $20 uber to downtown.
If you fly into Boston there are buses run all day and night long by Concord Coach Lines that picks you up at the terminal and brings you to Portland Transportation Center. It is very close to La Quinta Hotel and there are taxis, Ubers, City Bus that can bring you downtown.
- Downtown Portland Hotels -
The closest: The Westin Portland Harborview
Downtown, but closer to the Old Port: Holiday Inn by the Bay
(they have first come first serve shuttle that goes to Bayside Bowl and the airport 6am-10pm)
Downtown by the Water: Aloft Portland Downtown Waterfront
(modern design, but NO shuttles. Easy to Uber to Bayside, walkable to the Old Port)
On the edge of downtown, lowest price in town: La Quinta Inn & Suites
(reviewed as clean & we hear good things for a "budget" hotel. Shuttle to and from the airport 8am-8pm)
- Outside of town for lower prices -
(under 15 min and easy under $20 Ubers)
By the Mall, clean, affordable: Tru by Hilton South Portland
(shuttle to and from the airport)
By the airport: Comfort Inn Airport
(shuttle to and from the airport)
